Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the treating agent which consists of specific Engosaku (II(dl-tetrahdropalmatine)) as an effective component and has excellent safety. CONSTITUTION: The Engosaku (II(dl-tetrahdropalmatine)) which is formed by pulverizing or powdering the dry tubers of, for example, Engosaku, extracting the resulting powder by using an org. solvent, such as chloroform, and refining the extract with chromatography and is expressed by the formula or its salt is used as the effective component, by which this treating agent is obtd. The dosage thereof is preferably in a range of 25 to 75 mg per day orally in the case of an adult.
