Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remodeled aluminum fitting such that a new aluminum fitting can be rigidly and firmly mounted on the existing frame of an existing aluminum fitting from which sashes have been removed, even if the existing frame left behind has corroded, with the remodeled fitting capable of withstanding wind pressure caused by high winds after remodeling; and to provide a method for reforming an aluminum fitting whereby fitting remodeling work can be easily performed and the period of remodeling work can be reduced.
SOLUTION: The sill, head and right and left jambs of an existing aluminum fitting 1 from which sashes have been removed are provided with steel reinforcing curved plates 3 for covering the existing parts of the fitting 1. The steel reinforcing curved plates 3 are fixed to building concrete C by anchors 4 passing through the frame of the existing aluminum fitting 1, and the sill, head and right and left jambs of a new aluminum fitting 5 are fixed to the steel reinforcing curved plates 3.
