Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for remodeling a single-canvas dryer, which greatly reduces cost of the remodeling for improving drying capacity.
SOLUTION: In this method, boring devices 7 are mounted on a top dryer drum 1, after a canvas 3 is removed. Drills 22, mounted on the boring device in the axial and vertical directions, are moved downward while being rotated, to bore a number of holes 25 on the periphery of a bottom dryer drum 2. A stabilizer 26 is mounted on the bottom dryer drum 2 provided with the holes 25. The bottom dryer drum 2 is then used as the suction roll, without removing it or using a new suction roll.
