Title:
REMOVAL OF ACIDIC GAS FROM GAS MIXTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54137002
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
Acid gases are removed from gas mists. by contact with an aq. soln. contg. (a) a physical solvent for the gas, (b) a tert. amine, and (c) a sec. aid for primary amine with pKB value is not >1.0 below that of the tert. amine. Amt. of (c) is 1-50 mol.% of the total amine. Used to treat natural gas, or gasification prods. of oil or coal to increase its calorific value or make it suitable for catalytic processes. Addn. of (c) ensures removal of COS, which is not removed by tert. amine alone in presence of large amts. of CO2, while retaining the greater efficiency of tert. amines for CO2 removal.
