PURPOSE: To remove protein in a liquid by combining with resin and not to bring about degeneration or change in quality and dilution etc., by bringing a protein containing liquid such as urine, blood serum etc. into contact with polyphenol-aldehyde resin.
CONSTITUTION: Resin produced by condensing polyphenol such as hydroquinone, resorcinol etc. with excess formaldehyde under an acidic condition, is washed well by water, methanol etc. and as occasion demands, it is used after drying. This resin is made into an even grain size at need and is packed in a column and then, protein is removed by combining with the resin by passing a protein containing liquid such as urine, blood serum etc. Combined protein is not eluted by an aqueous solution of urea, an aqueous solution of ethanol, 3N-HCl etc. Accordingly, the resin is used until it is saturated with the protein and it is used suitably for the analysis of another component in the sample because another component other than the protein in the protein containing liquid is not changed in quality or not degenerated and also, is not diluted.
