To switch an identical-frequency repeater fast between an active system and a standby system without oscillating owing to characteristic differences of reception and transmission even when the level of a sneak wave is larger than the level of a master station and a D/U is 1.
The identical-frequency repeater having a receiving means, a sneak canceler, and a PA for each of the active system and standby system detects the D/U on the basis of the reception signal of the standby system, controls the transmission gain of the standby system to a stationary transmission gain during active system/standby system switching when the D/U is 1, and performs control to suppress and switch the gain of a PA portion of the standby system on the basis of the D/U when the D/U is 1 and to gradually increase it up to the stationary transmission gain.
