To provide such a resist compsn. having excellent developing property, resolution, adhesion property and stability that more pigments can be efficiently dispersed by using a specified dispersion resin, that if the resist compsn. is a black resist compsn., it has good light shielding property and enables stable formation of a high-accuracy black matrix, that if the compsn. is a color resist compsn. of red, green, blue or the like, it has an effect to increase the reproducing region of colors, and to provide a color filter of high quality and low cost for a liquid crystal display and the like.
In the color filter resist compsn. containing pigments and a dispersant, the dispersant is a dispersion resin obtd. by the reaction of a polyisocyanate compd., a compd. having 300 to 10000 number average mol.wt. having one or two hydroxyl groups in one molecule, a compd. having active hydrogen and tertiary amino groups in one molecule, and a compd. having active hydrogen and ethylene unsatd. groups in one molecule.
