Abstract:

PURPOSE: To measure the resistance at the junction part of a transmission line path in live wire state by feeding bias current to a light emitting diode, converting the voltage drop of an object to be measured into light, and then transmitting it to an optical fiber.

CONSTITUTION: A voltage drop (e) generated at the junction resistance of a junction part J supplies current to a resistance R. However, the resistance R>> junction resistance is established and the voltage (e) is generated at both terminals of the resistance R so that the quantity of emission of the light emitting diode LED changes according to the voltage (e). The light emitted by the LED is transmitted to a display via an optical fiber O.F and is displayed after light-electricity conversion and operation to resistance by detection voltage and current value. Since the detection part is driven by a battery, it can be laid out closer to a measurement part and light detected near a junction part J can be transmitted by lifht, thus achieving measurement on a live wire stably and safely even in a high-voltage transmission line path. A current (i) of the line can be measured by a clamp ammeter and transmitted to the display by light.
