To provide a robot system which recognizes the location of a robot by receiving a light source having phase information transmitted from a beacon.
The robot system includes the beacon having a transmitting part 10 therein for transmitting a location determining light source, and a mobile robot having a receiving part 20 for receiving the light source. The robot system comprises a rotation driving part 30 for rotating the transmitting part 10 about a predetermined central axis as an origin, an encoder 40 for imparting the phase information, i.e. information on rotation of the transmitting part 10 with respect to a reference direction by the rotation driving part 30, and a location measuring part 50 for measuring the location of the mobile robot, based on the phase information of the light source received by the receiving part 20.
