Abstract:

To provide a robot capable of optimally holding a wide variety of objects according to their states.

A holding method by the object or the state of objects is learned and set by a learning means based on the result of recognition of the manual object holding operation by a recognition device, and the learned holding method is stored in a holding method database corresponding to each object. According to the state recognized by the recognition device, one object holding method is specified by an object holding method specifying means out of the different object holding methods according to the state recognized by the recognition device. By referring to the specified object holding method, holding of the object to be held is executed by a holding device.
