Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a roller for conveyance having superior seizing and wear resistances and scratching hardly a material to be conveyed by quenching spheroidal graphite cast iron having a specified relation between the C and Si contents to form a uniformly quench-hardened structure contg. spheroidal graphite as the microscopic structure.
CONSTITUTION: A roller for conveyance is made of spheroidal graphite cast iron contg. C and Si satisfying an equation C+0.85Si=4.5W6.8. The roller is then quenched to form a uniformly quench-hardened structure contg. spheroidal graphite as the microscopic structure.
