Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine capable of improving an operation lifetime of the rotary electric machine and preventing non-planned stop by predicting occurrence of abnormal wear of a brush at an early stage.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine comprises: a collector ring 1 that is a rotor; a brush 2 which includes a contact face 2a in contact with a surface of the collector ring 1 and an irradiation face 2b that is a face at a side opposite to the contact face 2a and electrifies the rotating collector ring 1 in contact with the collector ring; a first distance measuring device 6 which is provided at a position opposite to the irradiation face 2b of the brush 2 and measures a distance L to the brush 2; and a diagnosis device 7 which is connected to the first distance measuring device 6 and outputs an alarm if a change ΔL of the distance L from an initial value exceeds a predetermined first threshold K1 within a time of one or more cycles of rotations of the collector ring 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
