PURPOSE: To extend the operating period of a rotary filter removing foreign matters from a liquid such as a cleaning solvent by providing jacket-like baffle plates covering a filter inlet from the inside of a filter tank, and providing multiple communicating holes on the baffle plates.
CONSTITUTION: A polluted solvent entering a filter tank 31 from a filter inlet 17 collides with jacket-like baffle plates 32, 32', is bent in the direction perpendicular to the inflow direction, and is spread in the baffle plate 32 while the speed is reduced. The solvent enters the axis side of the filter tank 31 from communicating holes H provided on the buffle plate 32, it is filtered through filter elements 11, and it is returned to a processing tub from a filter outlet 18. The passage resistance to the solvent passing through the filter elements 11 from the filter inlet 17 is adjusted to nearly the same value as that of the communicating holes H, nearly the same quantity of the solvent flows through the filter elements 11, and solid foreign matters in the polluted solvent are uniformly deposited.
