To provide a rotary solenoid that can be formed in the simplified structure to save the space with merit of cost and assures excellent mass production, while generation of operation sound for switching between power feed and non-power feed can be eliminated.
A protruded part 10a of a rotating plunger 10 is rotated between the initial location T separated from an extended part 9 and a magnetically equivalent location S facing the extended part 9 via a very small gap G in accordance with switching between the power feed and non-power feed to a coil body 12. Therefore, the protruded part 10a does not collide with the extended part 9, not generating a hitting sound as the operation sound. Owing to a structure where the protruded part 10a of the rotating plunger 10 is rotated to the magnetically equivalent location S due to generation of an electromagnetic force, a rotating torque becomes large and accurate controlling operation can be realized for activation and deactivation of a drive axis 5. Accordingly, highly reliable control can also be realized. In addition, the rotary solenoid 1 can be manufactured in a comparatively simplified structure. As a result, merit in the cost can be attained, space can be saved, and excellent mass production can also be realized.
