Title:
ROTATING ELECTRIC MACHINE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR THE ROTATING ELECTRIC MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3798684
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electric machine and a manufacturing method therefor wherein disturbance in commutation, lowering of motor efficiency, and vibration and noise produced from an armature are prevented, and further, slip noise from a brush and abnormal wear in the brush are reduced.
SOLUTION: In a commutator 23 of a motor, an uneven face is formed in a face which is in sliding contact with a brush. The uneven face in the commutator 23 is formed by applying ultrasonic vibration to the tool bit 52 of a lathe 50 using an ultrasonic oscillation unit 54, and machining the sliding contact face of the commutator 23 using the tool bit 52. The uneven face is so constituted that, when there is initial wear in the brush, the brush is brought into contact with the projected portions of the commutator 23. Thus, the sliding friction between the brush and the peripheral surface of the commutator 23 is stabilized, which results in reduced slip noise from the brush and abnormal wear in the brush.
