PURPOSE: To obtain a running guide method for belt-shaped wet material which is designed to embody a multi-cylinder type drying device which heats equally the front and rear sides of the belt-shaped wet material and adsorbs and discharges moisture and restrainedly supports the belt-shaped wet material, thereby running in a stable manner.

CONSTITUTION: From the upstream side of a carrier passage 1 of a belt-shaped wet material (w) there are laid out a first heating cylinder 10, a first moisture adsorption and discharging cylinder 12, a second moisture and discharging cylinder 21 and a second heating cylinder 20 in this order. The belt-shaped wet material (w) is arranged to run between these adjacent cylinders, say, 10, 12, 21 and 20 along a common inscribed line. A first endless belt 51 is positioned above the belt-shaped wet material (w) on the heating cylinder 10 below the second moisture absorption and discharging cylinder 12 while a second endless belt 52 is positioned below the belt-shaped wet material (w) above the second moisture and discharging cylinder 21 and above the material on the second having cylinder 20 so that the first and second endless belts 51 and 52 may run in the same direction. The belt-shaped wet material (w) is clamped and guided by the first and second endless belts 51 and 52 between the first moisture adsorption and discharging cylinder 12 the second moisture adsorption and discharging cylinder 52.
