Abstract:
To provide a straddle type vehicle that includes a swing type power unit, that can secure a ground height and protect a bottom surface of a crank case even when a catalyst device having a large diameter is arranged in the middle of an exhaust pipe, and that can protect the exhaust pipe and the catalyst device from external factors such as scattering stones or a step protruding upward without separately adding an exhaust pipe protect plate.SOLUTION: A straddle type vehicle 1 includes: a vehicle body frame 2; a swing type power unit 3 having a cylinder 42 arranged in a crank case 30 such that a cylinder axis line X is inclined substantially horizontally forward, and swingably supported via a link member 24 on the vehicle body frame; an exhaust pipe 6 connected to the swing type power unit; a catalyst device 7 arranged in the middle of the exhaust pipe 6. A protect plate 8 is provided below the crank case, and a lower end 7b of the catalyst device is located above a lowermost end 8b of the protect plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
