PURPOSE: To obtain a sandwich structure which has the same strength in bending along X-axis and Y-axis on face plate by arranging plural beams in corrugation longitudinally and laterally and then disposing face plates on both sides with the beams in between.
CONSTITUTION: In a sandwich structure 1, used suitably for a main structure or the like, of an experimental module in a space station, corrugated, plural beams 2 are arranged longitudinally and laterally, and face plates 3, 3 are disposed on both sides with the beams 2 in between. The beam 2 is formed as corrugation by joining inclined portion and horizontal portion alternately. The respective beams are then so disposed that crest potions and trough portions of adjoining beams 2, 2 are juxtaposed. Plural beams are disposed mutually in parallel at specific intervals so as to intersect almost perpendicularly. In the face plate 3, longitudinal and lateral crosspieces 3e, 3f and crosspieces in two oblique directions, 3g, 3h are arranged within surrounding frame 3a-3d. Each crosspiece 3e-3h is formed in a ≤' sectional form, with a rib in the middle.
