To provide a scooter type vehicle capable of arranging another part in the neighborhood of an air cleaner arranged in front of a leg shield in addition to securing a straddling space, increasing suction capacity of the air cleaner and extensively increasing storing capacity of a storage box.

The scooter type vehicle is furnished with the leg shield 29, the storage box 15 and an internal combustion engine 12 having the air cleaner 42, and the straddling space 36 is formed between the leg shield 29 and a seat S. The air cleaner 42 arranged in front of the leg shield 29 is constituted of a first case 42a and a second case 42b, and the first case 42a is arranged in a space 33 formed by using a lower part 30b of a side part shield part 30 of the leg shield 29. The second case 42b and fuel tank 14 positioned above the second case 42b are arranged in a space 34 formed by using a central shield part 31 of the leg shield 29.
