PURPOSE: To facilitate the secondary molding of a pipe end and to attain the production of accurate products at a reduced cost by heating and melting a pipe end, shaping the pipe end by pressing the pipe end into a metallic mold and then separting the metallic mold while the molded pipe end is in thermoelastic state.
CONSTITUTION: A pipe end 12 inserted into a cavity 11 is heated and melted by means of heaters 10a and 6d, then the pipe end 12 is pressed further into the cavity 11 thus forming an expanded socket part 12a. When the expanded socket part 12a reaches thermoelastic state, first the movable female mold block 9 is retracted, then the core mold 6 and the slidable core mold 8 are moved simultaneously in directions shown by arrows B and C respectively whereby the expanded socket part 12a can be removed from the mold. Thus, the secondary molding of a pipe end is facilitated and accurate products can be produced at a reduced cost.
