Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the composition having a specified average number of NCO functional groups, excellent in water dispersion stability and workability, useful for water-based coating agents, etc., comprising each specific polyisocyanate, hydrophilic surfactant and aliphatic compound, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The composition 2.0-3.5 in average number of NCO functional group, comprising (A) polyisocyanate(s) consisting mainly of at least one kind among aliphatic polyisocyanates, alicyclic polyisocyanates and aromatic polyisocyanates, (B) a hydrophilic surfactant having one or more active hydrogen groups reactive with isocyanate group, such as polyethylene ether alcohol and (C) a ≥8C aliphatic compound having one or more active hydrogen group reactive with the isocyanate group and/or a fatty acid ester ≥8 in sum of the number of the carbon atoms in a fatty acid and hydroxyl-contg. compound as feedstocks. The second objective water-based coating composition can be obtained by incorporating this composition with water.
