PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display device wherein a picture element driving circuit of a display part and a peripheral driving circuit such as a driver circuit can be constituted on one insulation substrate monolithically, and leakage current is low and driving ability high in a picture element driving circuit of a display part.
CONSTITUTION: A sample-and-hole circuit in a display part 1 of an active matrix type display device 10 has a circuit structure having a sampling circuit wherein a thin film transistor whose constituent material is a crystalline silicon film is used for raising the operating speed and driving ability and a hold circuit wherein a thin film transistor whose constituent material is an amorphous silicon film is used for raising off-resistance. Therefore, a source driver 2 and a gate driver 3 of the display device 10 have a circuit structure wherein a thin film transistor whose constituent material is a crystalline silicon film is used to raise the operating speed and driving ability.
