Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation method capable of concentrating dysprosium when rare earth elements are separated from iron scrap.SOLUTION: Provided is a separation method where rare earth elements are separated from a composition including rare earth elements and iron group elements, containing a process of melting the composition and oxides, in which the oxides are made of silica, calcium oxide and alumina, the content of the silica is 35 to 70 mass%, the content of the calcium oxide is 10 to 50 mass%, and the content of the alumina is 5 to 25 mass%.
