To provide a method for adsorbing, separating and concentrating an optical isomer according to a pseudomoving bed method.
This method for separating an optical isomer comprises steps for concentrating an optically active substance-recovering a mobile phase for concentrating the optically active substance and recovering the mobile phase provided at an outlet for an extract and/or a raffinate when adsorbing and separating an optical isomer by using a pseudomoving bed method comprising introducing the optical isomer and the mobile phase into a packed bed in which an adsorbent is housed in the interior thereof and the front end and the rear end form an endless state with a fluid passage to circulate a fluid in one direction, simultaneously taking out the fluid containing one separated compound out of the packed bed, arranging an introduction port for the mobile phase, a takeout port for the fluid (extract) containing a readily adsorbable compound, an introduction port for the optical isomer and a takeout port for the fluid (raffinate) containing a hardly adsorbable compound in the order mentioned in the flow direction of the fluid in the packed bed and intermittently and successively moving the positions thereof in the flow direction of the fluid in the bed.
