Abstract:

To provide a separation recovery method for Zr and Mo capable of efficiently and economically separating from each other, the Zr and Mo contained in high level radioactive waste liquid and the like generated in a nuclear-related facilities where reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel and production and dismantling process of nuclear materials are conducted.

A solid adsorbent containing TODGA is made in contact to a solution containing Zr and Mo, and Zr in the solution is selectively adsorbed by the TODGA. When TODGA is used as adsorbent, Zr shows prominent adsorptivity in the nitric acid concentration of 4 mol/l or higher and the adsorption distribution coefficient of Zr prominently increases as the increase of nitric acid concentration; however Mo shows little adsorptivity in any concentration of nitric acid.
