A pulse signal having a different pattern change from the termination of the initialization pattern is outputted from a pulse output portion 158 when a DC motor 110 is driven in a specified direction. The DC motor is driven in the specified direction (S100), and it is judged at this moment whether or not the DC motor is driven in the direction that makes the initialization pattern detected quickly based on the pattern change of the pulse signals (S104). The DC motor is driven in the direction that makes the initialization pattern detected quickly, and an origin position is identified at this moment based on the initialization pattern contained in the pulse signals (S103).
