To efficiently conduct a pattern data creating operation by previously registering the attribute information of block data (yarn density and pitch of running data) in a keyboard, and invoking the same from the keyboard during the creation of block data to change the attribute.

As shown in the drawing, at the time of creating block data, it is examined in the step 22 whether there is keyboard input or not, and if yes, the current yarn density is changed to a preset value corresponding to the key in the step 23, and block data is created using the value to complete creation of pattern data.
