Title:
SHAFT MADE OF FIBER-REINFORCED RESIN FOR TRANSMITTING DRIVING FORCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04301437
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To get rid of generating slippage and breakage of an FRP pipe by making the crosssection of the joint part of a joint element with the FRP pipe into a regular polygonal shape and making the shape of the apex part of the corner of the regular polygonal shape of the joint part to be 0.15 or smaller in terms of the ratio of the beveling width to the distance between the center of the regular polygon to the apex part of the corner.

CONSTITUTION: An FRP pipe with a laminated constitution is prepd. by winding a glass fiber and a carbon fiber impregnated with an epoxy resin on a mandrel by means of a filament winding method. Then, drawn a release film is wound thereon and they are cured by heating. After curing, unnecessary parts on both end parts are cut and removed and the product is removed from the mandrel to obtain an FRP pipe with a regular octagonal joint part 2. The distance between opposite sides of the octagon of the joint part is approximately 65.08mm and the ratio of beveling is made 0.15 or smaller. The joint part between the FRP pipe and the joint element is strong thereby and the original strength which the FRP pipe has can be exhibited.
