In an image forming apparatus, an interlock switch 7 shuts off a power line 11 and a power source 9 and connects the power line 11 and a wiring line 13 while a cover for covering a conveying path is opened. When a paper sheet clogged in the conveying path is pulled out while the cover is opened, a roller rotates, and when motors 137a and 137b are rotated following the rotation of the rotor and the electromotive force (electromotive force during jam processing) is generated, electromotive force detection signals are output from an electromotive force detection part 700. When the signals from the circuit part 15 are input to the control part 500 before a predetermined period elapses after the electromotive force detection signals are input to the control part 500, the control part 500 does not perform the processing to be executed by the input of the signals from the circuit part 15.
