Abstract:
To obtain a compound stabilizing an essential β-sheet structure of a natural or synthetic peptide, a protein or a molecule.
The β-sheet mimetic and a method for giving or stabilizing the β-sheet structure of the peptide, protein and or the molecule are provided. In an aspect, the β-sheet mimetic is covalently bonded at the end of or in the peptide or the protein. The β-sheet mimetic has usefulness as a protease inhibitor generally having activity as a serine protease inhibitor (e.g. thrombin, elastase and the X factor).
