Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably output sheets stopped upstream of a sheet discharge area when a jam occurs.SOLUTION: A control part executes a sheet output mode upon occurrence of a jam during execution of a print job (Fig. 4A) and determines, based on a sheet category, whether to change a drive current to be supplied to a first motor, and the like, for driving a transport roller, and the like, on an upstream side. In the case of, for example, the sheet category being thick paper with large beam-strength, the control part increases a drive current of the first motor to a current value Ib (Figs. 4C, 4D), and likewise increases a drive current to be supplied to a second motor to a current value Ib (Figs. 4F, 4G). Meanwhile, the control part stops driving a third motor to stop the transport roller rotating (Fig. 4H). The increasing of the drive current of the first motor, and the like, on the upstream side to the current value Ib makes it possible to increase torque of the first motor and the like, thus preventing pull-out of the first motor even in the case of, for example, using paper with large beam-strength.
