Abstract:
To provide a sheet type discrimination device capable of suppressing an increase in time required for printing, and a control program for the sheet type discrimination device.SOLUTION: An image formation device 1 as a sheet type discrimination device comprises: a paper feed tray 11 for storing a sheet; a sheet conveying unit 10 for conveying the sheet out of the paper feed tray 11; a basis weight sensor 23 for measuring a basis weight of the sheet to be conveyed; a storage device for storing a type discrimination table on which a relation between the basis weight and the type of the sheet is described; and a CPU (Central Processing Unit). In the type determination table, a unique range as a range of basis weight in which a type of sheet is uniquely discriminated and a selection range as a range of basis weight in which a type of sheet is discriminated in any of a first type whose the basis weight is relatively large and a second type whose basis weight is relatively small, are defined. When the measured basis weight is a value within the selection range, the CPU displays a selection screen and sets the type of the sheet stored in the paper feed tray 11 to the accepted type through the selection screen.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
