Abstract:

To deepen penetration of a weld metal part without degrading a welding quality by setting an adequate welding condition.

A shield gas is used, the concentration of which is set to ≥0.2 vol.% (preferably, ≥0.4 vol.%) by adding gaseous oxygen to gaseous helium. By setting the oxygen concentration in the weld metal to 70-700 ppm, the penetration depth of the weld metal is increased, and the dimensional ratio D/W of the weld metal is increased. The penetration depth is further increased without degrading the welding quality by performing the welding while satisfying at least one of the welding conditions of the welding current, the welding rate and the adequate range of the arc length.
