Abstract:
To provide a shift control device and a method of a continuously variable transmission that suppress the hunting of the transmission along with the intervention of transmission protecting control.
A CVT controller 8 changes over a vehicle body speed which is used for determining a target speed ratio i* of a CVT 2, from a driving wheel speed into a driven wheel speed during operating traction control to suppress driving slip, while correcting a value for the driven wheel speed to be higher in a range not exceeding the driving wheel speed as a deviation between the driving wheel speed and the driven wheel speed is greater.
