Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accurately detect the displacement of a shock absorber even when a car stops by providing a one-way valve that allows the air within an inner cylinder only to flow in a room between the inner cylinder and an outer cylinder on the upper part of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:An inner cylinder 1 of a shock absorber and a piston rod 4 are electrically insulated by insulating members 3a, 6a, and 7-11 and a detection circuit unit 12 that converts the electrostatic capacitance variation between both to the frequency variation is provided. Then, a one-way valve 20 is provided on the circumferential surface at the upper end of the inner cylinder 1 is provided. The air contained in the inner cylinder 1 is all moved to a room 14 side as a car runs and subsequently the state in which the inner part of the cylinder 1 is filled with oil 19 is maintained. Since this state is maintained while the car is being stopped, the electrostatic capacitance while the car is being stopped may not be varied by air inflow and stable detection is enabled.
