To provide short fiber nonwoven fabric capable of thermal bonding treatment at decreased processing temperature, having slight reduction of bond strength even in use in a high-temperature atmosphere, excellent mechanical characteristics, and excellent texture and flexibility, and comprising cotton as main fiber.
The short fiber nonwoven fabric comprises cotton as main fiber, is composed of a dicarboxylic acid component mainly composed of terephthalic acid and a diol component having ≤50 mol% of 1,6-hexanediol as the components bonding the short fibers composing the nonwoven fabric, and contains a crystal nucleating agent of 0.01 to 5.0 mass%. The short fiber nonwoven fabric contains a polyester A having a melting point (Tm) of 100 to 150°C, and an amorphous polyester B having a flow starting temperature (R) of 105 to 155°C, wherein the flow starting temperature (R) and the melting point (Tm) of the polyester A satisfy the formula (1): (R-Tm)≥5(°C).
