Title:
SHRINK PROOFING OF ANIMAL FIBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10121318
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To reduce lowering of strength and elongation of animal fibers and extremely increase shrink proofing decomposing and removing scaly scale part of epidermis of animal fibers under a specific condition.

This shrink proofing of animal fibers is performed by a chemical or physical pretreatment making action of a protease effective by a pretreatment with a weak chlorine-based oxidant, etc., and a short time treatment with the protease under an optimum reacting condition. The objective animal fibers such as wool having soft feeling, high anti-pilling property and trachychromatic effect, and increased brightness of gloss, in which scaly scale part of epidermis of the animal fibers is decomposed and removed while the enzyme reaction is not proceeded in the cortex part inner the epidermis, are obtained by sufficiently performing adsorption treatment of the enzyme in a hot water.
