Abstract:

To correct the skew of sheet without reversely feeding the sheet.

This skew correcting device corrects the skew of the sheet when the sheet fed thereto is oblique. The skew correcting device comprises a skew correction member 1 brought into contact with the end of the sheet crossing to the conveying direction and allowed to move and a pair of downstream conveying rollers 5 for holding and conveying the sheet while rotating. Since the skew of the sheet is corrected by bringing the skew correction member 1 into contact with the end of the sheet being conveyed in the conveying direction by the pair of downstream conveying rollers 5 while moving in the conveying direction, the sheet does not need to be reversely conveyed.
