Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a slow-acting potassium fertilizer that develops stabilized slow-acting effect over a wide range of composition by using K2O, SiO2, CaO as essential components, Al2O3, MgO and FetO as selective components to be formulated and formulating substantially K2O-free CaO-SiO2 crystals and K2O- containing glass as the main components.
SOLUTION: FetO means that comprises both FeO and Fe2O3. In order to allow this crystals to coexist with glass bodies, typically their starting composition is molten once, then cooled to cause partial crystallization. In a preferred embodiment, as for the starting composition, the sum of SiO2 and Al2O3 is 20-70 mol.% based on the total of K2O, SiO2, CaO, Al2O3, MgO, MnO, and FetO, while the sum of the CaO, MgO, MnO and FetO is ≤75 mol.%.
