PURPOSE: To reduce the thermal stress upon a framework and a panel sheet after a solar generator is extended in the space by a method wherein a panel sheet is provided with stress only when it is retracted utilizing an auxiliary bar fixed on the panel sheet.
CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary bar 9 fixed on a proper position using an adhesive on a panel sheet 1 fitted with solar battery cells 4 is formed higher than horizontal beams 2a. When this solar generator is retracted by hinges 3 to push a panel sheet 1 adjoining the auxiliary bar 9 out of the surface, the flexible panel sheet 1 is deformed to provide itself with tension preventing the panel sheet 1 from vibrating under any vibration load. After the solar generator is extended in the space, the panel sheet 1 may be deprived of the tension to reduce the thermal stress due to solar heat.
