Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a solid catalytic component low in fine powder content, highly active when put to ethylene polymerization and giving polyethylene of narrow particle size distribution.

CONSTITUTION: Firstly, diethoxymagnesium, tetrabutoxytitanium and a ≥3C alcohol are mixed under heating into a homogeneous solution, which is then brought into contact with silicon tetrachloride kept at ≤20°C followed by reaction at 50-100°C to obtain a solid product. Then, this product is washed with an inert hydrocarbon solvent and treated with titanium tetrachloride at 40-130°C, thus obtaining the objective catalytic component.
