Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a solid state laser unit having no dependency on the light transmission characteristics of optical fiber in which the output laser oscillation wavelength can be varied easily and the output laser oscillating section is not susceptible to the thermal influence.
CONSTITUTION: The solid state laser unit comprises a solid state laser medium 12, a semiconductor laser 1 for pumping the solid state laser medium, a power supply for driving the semiconductor laser 1, and an optical fiber cable 5 containing an optical fiber for introducing a laser light 2 emitted from the semiconductor laser 1, wherein the solid state laser medium 12 is disposed at the forward end part 5b on the outlet side of the optical fiber cable 5 so that laser oscillation takes place at the forward end part 5b of the optical fiber cable thus outputting laser light directly.
