Abstract:

To expand a control range of volume, tone color, and pitch on an electronic wind instrument permitting a player to blow two tones separately, which have a same pitch name but are different in sound zone, by one and the same fingering.

On the edge or nearby which is on a lip plate 14 arranged on a pipe body and jet air blows, a lateral directional sensor group SH including two or more flow rate sensors for detecting a jet width, a longitudinal directional sensor group SV including two or more flow rate sensors for detecting eccentricity or thickness of the jet, and length sensors (light-emitting element Le and light emitting element Lr) for detecting the length of the jet are prepared. Ascent and descent of an octave are controlled, based on an output of a specific flow rate sensor among the sensor group SH and outputs of the length sensors. Volume is controlled by obtaining a jet width data from the sensor group SH. Tone color is controlled by obtaining eccentricity or a thickness data from the sensor group SV. A pitch is controlled by detecting a lip-holding amount onto an embouchure hole 16 or a lip-touch amount near the embouchure hole 16.
