To inspect two speakers installed in an apparatus for a difference in attached positions and the balance of sound output in a short time.
For a PC 70 incorporating two speakers 72R and 72L which are disposed along one axial direction, a main control unit 16 issues an instruction for the right speaker 72R to output a predetermined sound pattern repeatedly and for the left speaker 72L to output a predetermined sound pattern (180 degrees out of phase with the right speaker) repeatedly in the same way as for the right speaker. A sound recording unit 10 executes recording for a time when a microphone 40 is located at a center point between the two speakers and at a position in front of the center point (for 5 seconds, for example). Then, the main control unit 16 inspects the two speakers on the basis of a sound pattern recorded at the center point between the two speakers and a sound pattern recorded at the position in front of the center point.
