This sphere support unit is provided with a sphere 1 for supporting a transported material P, a sphere supporter 2 formed with a recess 20, in which the sphere 1 is rotatably fitted, an interior hole 30 movably housing the sphere supporter 2, and a unit main body 3 formed with an operation passage 31 for supplying compressed air under a lower end surface of the sphere supporter 2 inside the interior hole 30. The sphere supporter 2 is formed with a through hole 23 for communicating the inside of the recess 20 with the outside thereof, and the unit main body 3 is formed with a connection port 33 for connecting pipes and a communication passage 34 for communicating the connection port 33 with the through hole 23.
