Abstract:

To obtain spherical particles by melting the particle surfaces of a mixture of incinerated ash and a calcium compound to make the particles spherical and to delay the progression of neutralization of the hardened bodies of cement, mortar and concrete by using the spherical particles as an admixture.

This spherical particles are obtained by making the mixture of the incinerated ash and the calcium compound of 1-20 wt.% in terms of calcium to pass through a high temperature atmosphere of the melting point or higher of the mixture in order to melt the particle surfaces and make the particles spherical. As the calcium compound, a compound such as calcium hydroxide, calcium oxide and calcium carbonate is preferably used. When the spherical particles are used as the admixture, the progression of the neutralization of the hardened body can be delayed and the practical strength can be secured. As the incinerated ash, for example, the ash obtained by incinerating sewage sludge or industrial waste, particularly sewage sludge using a polymeric flocculant is used. A cylindrical rotary mixer, a V-shaped mixer, or the like, is appropriately used for mixing the incinerated ash and the calcium compound.
