To realize an excellent fire-extinguishing performance and economical property by spraying a water-soluble fire-extinguishing chemical solution the diffusion coefficient of which is a specified value by a specified expansion ratio.
A water-soluble fire-extinguishing chemical solution the diffusion coefficient of which is 5 or higher is emitted from a spraying head in such a manner that the expansion ratio may become less than 5 times, and thus, a suffocation fire-extinction in a plant equipment is performed, and the fire-extinction can be economically performed. The diffusion coefficient is represented by a formula: S=25-(γL+γi). In the formula, S represents the diffusion coefficient, the numeral value of 25 is the surface tension of cyclohexane at 20°C, γL represents the surface tension of the water-soluble fire-extinguishing chemical solution at 20°C, and γi represents the surface tensions of the cyclohexane and the water-soluble fire-extinguishing chemical solution at 20°C. Thus, when a fire-extinguishing experiment is performed with the water-soluble fire-extinguishing chemical with the diffusion coefficient of 5 or higher at the expansion ratio of less than 5 times, a period of time required for the complete fire- extinction is approx. 1/2 to 1/3 compared with a case wherein the water-soluble fire- extinguishing chemical with the diffusion coefficient of less than 5 is used, and such an excellent fire-extinguishing performance can be manifested.
