To obtain the subject stabilizer capable of imparting excellent weather resistance and stability such as blow-off stability to the chlorine-containing resin film by adding a specific zinc-containing organic phosphorus compound.
This stabilizer contains a zinc-containing organic phosphorus compound of formula I [R1-R4 are each a 4-18C alkyl;, a cycloalkyl or the like; (n) is ≥1] (for example, a compound of formula II). The compound of formula I is obtained by directly reacting a di-substituted phsophinic acid with a zinc source compound (for example, zinc oxide or zinc acetate) and removing the by-produced water or acetic acid, etc. The stabilizer may, if necessary, contain an organic phosphoric acid ester, calcium strearate, etc. When used, the stabilizer is preferably compounded to a chlorine-containing resin in an amount of 0.01-2.0 pts.wt. (converted into the compound of formula I containing in the stabilizer) per 100 pts.wt. of the chlorine-containing resin.
