Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a stabilizer consisting of a hydroxylamine, capable of giving high-purity bisphenol A which is low in discoloration, excellent in hue and suitable for optical use.
CONSTITUTION: This stabilizer consists of a hydroxylamine (salt) of the formula (R1 and R2 are each H or an alkyl) (pref. N,N-diethylhydroxylamine). It is preferable that the amount of this stabilizer to be used be 5-100wt.ppm based on bisphenol A, and this stabilizer be added to the crystal of bisphenol A-phenol adduct or a mixture of the adduct with phenol during bisphenol A production process.
