This sheet ejecting device has a first pile 26a and a second pile 26b, and successively performs a process of lowering a stacking plate of stacking paper when taking out the stacking plate 27a or 27b of stacking the paper W from the first pile 26a or the second pile 26b, a process of inserting the stacking plate into the stage higher by at least two stages than the stacking plate of the uppermost stage of stacking the paper, a process of lifting-positioning the inserted stacking plate to-in a plate upper limit position L2, a process of neglecting (invalidating) a stopping command of a driving device of a printer by a first beam sensor 62a or 62b, a second beam sensor 63a or 63b and a third beam sensor 64a or 64b by detecting that the inserted stacking plate is positioned in the plate upper limit position L2, and a process of taking out the stacking plate of stacking the paper by advancing-retreating a stacking paper takeout device 70 to the device.
